Loving the red shoes!

Congratulations to Sara & Joe!
They were married in May, and we had a great time photographing them at the lake. There was even a surprising encounter with a park ranger that had everyone laughing hysterically (we would like to thank Joe's brother, Mike, for jumping in to defend us!). :D

Sara looked beautiful in her dress, but we want to give a special shout out to those amazing red shoes! What a great way to add the perfect pop of color to the wedding day!
We love this new trend!

Bring Your Photographer to School!

Last week Marv was invited to Highland Middle School by his nephew, Tanner, to participate in their career day. The 7th grade students are learning about different professions, and Marv had to answer their questions regarding photography and the photography business. It was a great time, and everyone learned something new!

"I really appreciate you coming and taking your time to speak to my kids about photography and your profession. The students are learning so much from all of the guest speakers who have been kind enough to come spend time with us." - Dawn Bruno, 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher

Relay For Life - Walking 'til sunrise!

This past weekend, Teresa took part in the local Relay For Life. The relay is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity, and it offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.
This year's relay was held at Edwardsville High School (due to the terrible weather). Throughout the evening, each team member took turns walking or running around a track (since it is required that each team have a representative on the track at all times). Relays are an overnight event, and everyone was walking from 10pm until 5am!
This year our local relay raised over $37K! So even though everyone was physically exhausted from walking all night, they could hold their heads high! A great effort for an even greater cause!

Run Katie!

Recently Katie ran the 2008 GO! St. Louis half marathon (13.1 miles) through the streets of STL (from downtown, to brewery, back downtown, to SLU, and back). More than 13,000 people participated in the eighth annual event. Katie was a real trooper in that she managed to get through all 13.1 miles with a pulled muscle. She is also participating in the Chicago Half Marathon in September, so hopefully she'll be 100% to take Chicago by storm! Congratulations Katie! We're proud of you!

Teaching & Learning Digital Photography

We just finished up our Spring class on Digital Photography. Kaskaskia College offers classes to the community dealing with a variety of subjects such as: flower arranging, MS Office word, how to buy and sell on Ebay, beginning computer skills, etc . They have a satellite branch of the college in Nashville, and we like to offer a Digital Photography course for beginners. People come out to the studio with their cameras in hand ready to ask a questions and take a bunch of pictures! It's always a big hit, and everyone has a great time. Thanks to all of our "students" who joined us this year! Hope to see you all again!

PPA Seal of Approval

"Snow Dog" just returned home from the PPA Mid-America Regional Print Competition with a blue ribbon! The Photographic Exhibitions Committee (PEC) has deemed the print worthy of PPA merit level and placement in the International Print Exhibit at the annual convention. We are very proud!
